Trinity Tots parent’s day out

Welcome to Trinity United Methodist Church Parent’s Day Out!  We are excited that our program can minister to you and your child.  In order for you to better understand our program, we would like to explain our policies.

Statement of Purpose

Trinity’s PDO provides parents with a safe, loving, Christian environment for your child.  We provide children the opportunity to expand their understanding of the world through positive social relationships with peers and adults.  Daily activities are planned with a focus on the group’s age and skill level while allowing flexibility for the individual child’s needs.  Consistent staff and daily routines foster a sense of security children need to explore and learn.

Our program will be a home-like routine, with periods of play and learning.  Some of the areas of study are: colors, shapes, community helpers, the environment, seasons, learning about self, family and many others.  We include music, stories, puzzles, games, physical play and outdoor activities to enhance your child’s experience with us.

It is our prayer that each child will benefit in every way: emotionally, spiritually, socially, physically and intellectually.  We want your child to be in an environment where he/she is comfortable and secure.  Learning to work together, share, play well with others, follow directions, obey rules, be sympathetic, have opportunities to be independent and learn to express oneself are just a few of the areas that we consider important to the life of your child.

Our Goals

  • Become aware that each person is worthy of God’s love and the love of other human beings.

  • Acquire knowledge from the Bible that will assist the child in having clearer understanding of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in relation to self and others.

  • Develop understandings, attitudes and skill appropriate for the child’s age.

  • Experience the loving care of adults whose own lives exemplify commitment to the Christian community.

  • Learn more about self and others through informal role-play.

  • Be encouraged to develop the ability to communicate effectively with teachers and other children at an age appropriate level.

  • Provide opportunities for using art and craft materials to foster and increase appreciation of form, color and texture though development of large and fine motor skills.

  • Develop an awareness of music, appreciation of sound and rhythm, and the ability to participate in some form of musical expression.
